stitching adds definition to my piece

This is the blue piece with yellow plastic liners. I had to let it rest for a couple of weeks to figure out to best work with the texture. Started stitching the yellow warp threads which gives a real nice texture to the piece. I start loving it. If it would just not be so time consuming..........

Finished Shawl

Love how the shawl turned out, very playful its color and texture. It feels good, didn't shrink as much as I thought it would. Material is cotton and cotton/linen blend. Isn't it interesting how different the color looks, determined by the light. The soft pink border and fringes make a nice finish for the shawl.

Wonderful weekend spent on my loom

Gaia is holding my seat while I get ready of doing all my chores before I sit down to weave.

Had to take the pattern out, it was to busy with the yarn. Decided on a plain weave and interact with blue yarn to get a streak of "artsy" into it.

Fine Habu Merino wool shawl Part 2

I can't believe it, I am finally weaving the shawl.
It takes forever with the fine yarn.
And then the breaking of the warp........
Right now it looks more like a checked tablecloth then a fancy wedding shawl.
But it will pucker together when it comes off the loom and after washing.

Yellow and blue piece

I tied on to the red, white, black piece, changed the tie up and weave it now in blue, green tones with yellow plastic. It looks good and so much easier to weave on my counter balance loom with the new tie up.
Can't wait to see how it forms when I take it off.
